Dubray Books

  • dubray

Dubray Books is one of Ireland’s leading independent booksellers. We began as a single shop in the seaside town of Bray in Co. Wicklow, just outside Dublin.

Founded by Helen Clear, the Bray Bookshop on the Quinsboro Road rapidly became a fixture in the town. In 1988 Mrs. Clear sold the business to her daughter- and son-in-law, Gemma and Kevin Barry, and the business remains in family hands to this day.

About Grafton Street

Grafton Street was named after Henry FitzRoy, The 1st Duke of Grafton, he was the illegitimate son of Charles II of England who owned land in the area and was developed from a country lane by the Dawson family in 1708, after whom the parallel Dawson Street is named.

Grafton Street runs from the top of St. Stephen's Green to (Trinity) College Green.
